Matutunghayan dito ay ang napakalinis na pinagsamang tubig tabang na nagbuhat pa sa bayan ng Alfonso,
Magallanez, Indang at Maragondon at tubig alat na nagmula naman sa karagatan ng Manila Bay.
The picture
shown above is the river between the Balot Island and town proper of Ternate. Those boats as you can see from the distance
are used for by the fisherman for fishing which is they call it "PANTI".
Every year in
the afternoon of January 5 and 6 the Santo Niño of Aglipay and Romano will start the procession from their respective church and will
head to small docking area close to the house of former town mayor Rodolfo de Leon, then would be embarked to a large boat
for the start of the procession on this river, then it will end at San Jose beach. Both Santo Niño will be disembarking then the procession will
start again on the street at barrio San Jose going back to the town proper.
The procession
or caracol is also celebrated on this river as a tradition for the fisherman to catch many fish.
This is we
always catch the crab (alimasag) and mudfish with bare hands and also with the help of our foot.
The river
is very rich with fish, clam, mudfish, shrimp and
crab, they can be catch with the old tradional sakag, panti, tahraya, bintol and sugapa.
